Our Mission
Our mission is to create an inclusive site for persons with disabilities, from persons with disabilities. By offering moral support, friendship, and a safe place to interact, Disabled People Network aims to build a community of true connection. Working together, we can construct a compassionate organization geared towards encouragement and personal growth.
Although Disabled People Network is designed for persons with disabilities, we believe it is critical to include those without disabilities in our daily discussions. Through transparent and informative conversations, we intend to provide space to learn from one another. Although we may not share the same aliments, we can all be empathic toward each other’s needs.
While many of us know the difficulties of living with a particular disability, it’s crucial to recognize how massive and incredibly diverse the disability community is. Disability is a natural part of the human experience and influences all of us differently. Through sharing stories with one another, we can collaborate on our collective needs, while elevating those that feel forgotten or without a voice.
To best facilitate our mission, we will be operating a forum driven website. We also intend to incorporate content from outside authors including testimonials, stories of individual triumph or struggle, and other editorials focused on daily living and increased happiness. As a forum, Disabled People Network serves as a bridge that joins the disabled community with friends, advocates, and the community at large.

We are a judgement free site
We know all too well the feelings associated with being judged. It creates a sense of hurt and shamefulness in the person. Simply put, it’s rude. We are a judgement free site!
Why a Forum?
Studies have shown persons with disabilities, especially physical disabilities, are more likely to feel lonely and depressed on a day-to-day basis. Consequently, many of these individuals are less likely to go out and seek social interaction.
Disabled People Network wants to provide the same opportunities for communication and collaboration for those who stay primarily at home, as those found in the greater community. Ultimately, our forum will offer a social interface where all people can be seen and heard.
Focusing on the theme of togetherness, Disabled People Network aims to bring and unite individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Interaction with one another is key to building relationships, which may further evolve into friendships. As friends, we can learn and grow together.
Furthermore, forums such as this one, create a safe space for sharing. For those who are shy or suffer from social anxiety, our forum provides the chance to meet others and feel connected. Together, we can discuss an endless array of topics. Everything from news, hobbies, recipes, and so much more.
Want to connect with a fellow gardener and learn tips for growing the best vegetables? Willing to share your grandma’s recipe for sugar cookies? The conversations in this forum can evolve into anything that fuels your interests.
Ultimately, there are countless reasons for joining a forum and we’d love to have you join ours.
